Deerfield Beach, Fla.—Mapei has just released specification data for its flooring products on Floorcloud, an online technology platform developed to enable users to remotely “monitor, communicate and communicate data about job site conditions in real time and save”.
The Floorcloud platform monitors job site conditions such as ambient temperature, humidity and dew point, as well as concrete moisture and temperature. Sensors report the data back to Floorcloud’s proprietary software, which is compatible on both desktop and mobile devices. According to the company, this allows users to actively monitor project conditions whether they are on site, in the office or anywhere with a mobile phone connection. Furthermore, the platform includes a manufacturer database of specification information so that real-world jobsite data can be compared in real time against manufacturer recommendations.
“Nearly 200 Mapei products are listed on Floorcloud by name as of now,” said Jim Whitfield, director of technical services. “Monitoring site conditions during the installation process is excellent practice. The fact that this database not only contains technical specification documentation, but also allows users to upload and save photos, add notes and send information to all stakeholders in real time will increase efficiency and consistency.”
